August End

mist welcomes morning
as crisp apple chill sneaks in
summer packs her bags

  1. I love the idea of summer packing her bags, though -in truth- I'd like her to hang around for a little bit longer. Your glorious haiku and picture are getting me in the mood, just a little bit, for all the wonders of fall.

  2. Typically, I love Fall - but this year I'm afraid Fall is going to come early and ugly - the trees will be bare in an instant and half the charm of the season will be lost. It's good to know, however, that she'll be back. Like a true Cubs fan - it's "Wait until NEXT year."

  5. Mist welcomes morning...and ME!

Here in Naples, summer just packs a 'carry-on', cause she'll be back each day for months to come.

(Watch now--this will be our 'coldest' winter on record--grin!!!)

    PEACE, Patti!

  9. This reminds me of my childhood, and of the homemade apple butter my great-aunt used to make.
